The Solstice Tradition

Why we gather for the Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice Immersion is where the Life-Force Academy began. Before the courses and the online community, there was a handful of us gathering in Nevada City in early June, practicing together on our home turf up on the Ridge.

Over the past decade it has grown into our flagship, and our favorite event of the year. The music you hear in our recordings, the feeling of this whole community, so much of it took root right here.

For the past couple of years we hosted the event at a beautiful retreat center overlooking Monterey Bay. This year we wanted to bring it back home. The new venue in Nevada City holds more of us, and it makes the whole gathering more affordable, so more of you can be in the room.

For five days, we gather in Nevada City. Eight sessions of practice, meditation, and deep stillness, carried by the live sound current of SIMRIT, a space to gather your life-force at the height of the year's light.

The Venue

We gather at The Stone House, a historic timber-and-stone venue tucked into the heart of downtown Nevada City. The town sits in the Sierra foothills, and it wears the season well.

There's plenty to wander into between sessions. Follow the trails into the hills, spend an afternoon by the majestic Yuba River, or simply walk the old streets and feel how Nevada City comes alive in summer.

Lodging is not included with the retreat. There are numerous hotels, bed and breakfasts, and Airbnbs nearby to suit any budget.
